Workshops

What's a Cinemahead workshop?

It's a unique immersion into individual and collaborative film-making. It is an experience. Participants are apprentices who learn by practice. The key elements of craft are learned in the course of actual production. They include story development, script writing, cinematography, directing camera and actors, as well as editing and creative producing. Participants go for it, without fear. The results often are festival-ready short films.

What's a writing lab?

Writers need to practice, so their talent is not silenced and frustrated. The Cinemahead writing lab is an ongoing process of story development, a journey towards a finished film story. The process includes brainstorming, story mapping, structure, idea recycling, scene and character work; apprentice writers develop a deeper command of conflict, choice, dilemma, beats, timings, climaxes and solutions. The results are stories with value that can be presented for sale or production.

The Lab is also available online for registered Cinemaheads.

Who has taken Cinemahead workshops?

A few workshop participants are now award-winning filmmakers: Jonas Bergergård and Jonas Hölmstrom, winners of the Clermont Ferrand festival with "Natan"; Daniel Wirtberg, director of "Julia"; Sara Broos, award-winning experimental filmmaker, and more.
